About Azin
Born in the coastal town of Monterey, California, I discovered my passion for painting at an early age, spending countless hours sketching the dramatic landscapes that surrounded my childhood home.
My work is deeply influenced by the natural world—the way morning light filters through fog, the subtle color shifts in mountain shadows, and the endless movement of the ocean. I believe that painting is a form of meditation, a way to slow down and truly observe the beauty that exists in every moment.
After completing my MFA at the San Francisco Art Institute, I spent several years traveling and painting en plein air across the American West. These experiences taught me to work quickly and intuitively, capturing the essence of a place rather than its literal representation.
Today, I work from my studio overlooking the Pacific, where I continue to explore the relationship between color, light, and emotion. My paintings have been exhibited in galleries throughout California and are held in private collections across the United States.
Artistic Philosophy
"I paint not what I see, but what I feel. Each brushstroke is an attempt to capture the fleeting emotions that arise when we truly connect with the natural world around us."
